About JIMA

The Jewelers Insurance Marketplace Agency (JIMA), representing multiple insurance companies, has been serving the insurance needs of the jewelry industry since 1982.

Our founder, Leonard S. Zwas CLU CPIA, and current President, Michael S. Zwas CIC, have built JIMA into one of the nation’s largest insurance brokerages focused on insuring the jewelry industry. Each has served terms on the National Agents Advisory Council for The Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, were both previous board members of the former New York State Jewelers Association Board of Directors, and both have participated in other jewelry industry and insurance industry associations. Annually recognized by Jewelers Mutual as one of the nation’s top Jewelers Block insurance agencies and in 2015 Len Zwas was inducted into the Jewelers Mutual Agents Hall of Fame.

At JIMA, we focus specifically on Jewelers Block Insurance. We represent multiple jewelers block insurance companies in order to provide our clients with the best solution that meets their needs and budget.

Who We Are

Leonard Zwas - Founder

Len, based out of Rochester, NY, has over 35 years of experience insuring and serving the Jewelry Industry. His experience with the unique challenges of insuring jewelry industry businesses, including the complex coverages, security knowledge, and store operations has earned him not only a strong and loyal client base but national recognition as well. Len is a past member of the Jewelers Mutual national Agents Advisory Council as well as a past member of the Board of Directors for the former New York State Jewelers Association. Throughout his career, Len has been consistently recognized as one of the top Jewelers Block insurance brokers in the United States by Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and was honored to be inducted into the Jewelers Mutual Agents Hall of Fame in 2015.

In addition to being an avid reader and tennis player, Len also enjoys spending time with his wife Shelley, his children and grandchildren.

Mike Zwas - President

Mike has over 20 years of experience insuring and serving the Jewelry Industry. Serving terms on the national Agents Advisory Council for Jewelers Mutual and the Board of Directors for the former New York State Jewelers Association, along with active participation with key industry organizations like The Jewelers Security Alliance, Mike’s experience extends beyond just insurance but into the security and procedures that are unique to the Jewelry Industry as well. In addition to developing a strong and loyal customer base of jewelers throughout the Northeast United States, Mike has been consistently recognized as one of the top Jewelers Block insurance brokers in the United States by the Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company.

Mike resides in Rochester, NY with his wife Betsy and their three sons and when not at work can often be found cheering on his kids at their extracurricular activities!
